windows mobile device driver cannot start

I've got a Samsung i730 which synch'd great on XP. Just downloaded Beta 2 of WMDC.
Driver cannot start. I try manually updating the driver, chose "(Standard Windows Mobile devices)" from the now short list of only 4 manufacturers and get error code 10 when it tries to start.
Any clues, tips, anything at all that would help?

I have a Samsung I700 and have the same problem. I thought the update for the Beta was going to fix it but it did not. Sure would like to be able to access this again.

I'm in the same boat if anyone finds anything pls update us. I miss syncing to my desktop.

mine brings up windows media player. I need to synce my outlook etc...
